Vince Valdez moved to Wyoming in 1953 from Mora, New Mexico. Following military service, he had a twenty year career in law enforcement with the Laramie Police Department. He enrolled at the University of Wyoming to study art. After his retirement from the police force, he became full time sculptor. Valdez has exhibited with such groups as the Audubon National Art Exhibition of Alaska Wildlife in Anchorage, Alaska, where he received an award of merit in 1987. His exhibition with the Audubon Wildlife Art Show in Lander, Wyoming earned him a second and third place in sculpture in 1987. Judges of the Western Regional Art Show in Cheyenne, Wyoming awarded him a second and third place in sculpture in 1987. From the Western Regional Art Show in Cheyenne, Wyoming he received Best of Show in 1987. |
