Leon Parson
Leon Parson resides in southeastern Idaho where he has been involved in art and biology since his early childhood days. In nine years of study he received three degrees including an Associated in Arts and Science, majoring in Life Science and Art; a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California; and a Master of Fine Arts from Syracuse University. The Master of Fine Arts thesis was on the history of wildlife art with an emphasis on Carl Rungius. Leon Parson has produced for the sporting magazine industry over eighty covers. His awards have included: Best Wildlife Painting, 1990 Arts in the Park; Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Quarterly Artist and a limited edition reproduction in 1991; 1989 Utah Waterfowl Conservation reproduction design; and his "The Veteran" reproduction received the President's Choice at a Safari Club Show in Illinois.
